Insurers, employers offer incentives to promote healthful habits

Growing numbers of companies are offering money and merchandise to get
workers to exercise, lose weight or meet other health goals to cut costs.
American Express Co. paid thousands of employees to exercise this summer,
giving each $200 toward their healthcare expenses simply for walking 21/2
miles a day.
